"In recent months, there have been some controversial moments in relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. Both sides expressed their opinions," Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated, the local media reports.
He said there could be disagreements between any two countries, including other neighboring countries.
"Azerbaijan's position is that in case of any disagreement, a solution should be found by discussing it within the framework of neighborly relations. We have had telephone conversations with my Iranian counterpart and held formal and informal consultations through diplomatic channels in recent weeks. I think that positive steps have been taken in these issues and will be taken in the future. I am confident that Iranian-Azerbaijani relations, as always, will develop in a positive way," he stated.
According to Bayramov, Iran and Azerbaijan can implement projects for the benefit of people and states.
