The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Ambassador of Georgia, Zurab Pataradze. Local media writes about the meeting.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations are based on historical friendship, with a good neighborly relationship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, energy, transport, as well as humanitarian, cultural, scientific, and educational fields.
The meeting strongly noted the support of both countries for international norms and principles, particularly the principle of support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states in the international arena.
The sides exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation in trilateral and multilateral formats, as well as within the framework of UN-led international organizations.
Zurab Pataradze congratulated Jeyhun Bayramov on his appointment on the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and delivered greetings from his Georgian counterpart Davit Zalkaliani. The Ambassador noted that there are opportunities for further expansion of high-level cooperation between the two countries.
