"The Incirlik Air Base belongs to the Turkish state, and the Turkish flag flies over it," says the statement of the Turkish Ministry of Defense; Haber Global reports the information.
"The use of some of the Incirlik Air Base enterprises is based on the Agreement on Defense and Economic Cooperation, signed between Turkey and the United States on March 29, 1980. The agreement states that the Government of the Republic of Turkey authorizes the US Government to participate in joint defense measures at Turkish Armed Forces facilities in Incirlik.
Incirlik Air Base is one of the bases of our air force, which belongs to the Turkish Armed Forces. It is the base of Turkey, along with all the enterprises located on it, it belongs to the state of the Republic of Turkey," the agency said in a statement.
