Vancouver police said they had received 65 alarms about sudden deaths since June 25, following a record rise in temperature. Twenty people died in the city of Surrey on Monday, and another 18 on Tuesday.
In Canada, record heat has been recorded in the city of Lytton for three days now. The thermometer showed 49.5 degrees on June 29. It is the maximum temperature record in Canada. According to weather forecasters, the previous record was 45 degrees.
