The pandemic caused by the coronavirus has halted many projects, including the construction of the first space hotel. The Gateway Foundation plans to open a hotel in the stratosphere in 2027 instead of 2025. The name of the future hotel also changed. It is now called Voyager Station, not Von Braun Space Station.
Visitors will have the opportunity to spend a week or a few months in low Earth orbit or live there permanently.
It is known that the hotel area will be 50 thousand square meters, built to accommodate 440 people. The hotel will have restaurants, bars, and a gym. According to the architect, their project aims to make the space accessible to everyone, create another place where people can spend their holidays.
