The Guardian writes on the Parliamentary elections in Ireland voting for Senators of House of Commons.

Leo Varadkar, Ireland’s current Prime Minister, will try to maintain its Fine Gael Party in the ruling position of the Parliament.

Polling stations opened at 07:00 on Saturday and will close at 22:00. Counting in thirty-nine election units is due to begin on Sunday, with full results expected on Monday or Tuesday.

Residents on islands off the coasts of Galway, Mayo, and Donegal cast their votes on Friday to ensure their ballots, which will be transported to counting centers on time.

The newly elected Irish Parliament of the 33-rd convocation starts work on February 20.

Irish Parliament includes President, House of Commons and House of Lords. House of Commons, Doil Ereni, includes 166 senators who are proportionally elected every five years.

It is the first time that Ireland elects on Saturday.
