PM of Armenia: Situation at hospitals is critical

"The situation at Armenian hospitals is critical. We are running out of places for infected patients," the Prime Minister of the country, Nikol Pashinyan, stated.

"Out of 1 857 places prepared 1 551 are taken, while 204 out of 239 places in resuscitation are taken as well," the prime minister said.

According to him, the growing number of infections shows that the Armenian population does not follow the epidemiological rules. Pashinyan does not rule out that if the situation worsens, the government will have to impose a total restriction.

"It will hit our economy hard," the PM said.

The new coronavirus in Armenia has been confirmed by 612 people in the last 24 hours, reaching the total number of 15 281.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the Armenian government extended the state of emergency until July 13.
