Over 50 000 people were evacuated in the Italian town of Brindisi. The Second World War bomb was discovered there. Experts were trying to defuse it. The citizens were evacuated to the north zone of the city to ensure safety.
According to local media, 60 percent of the population had to leave their living and working places. It was the biggest scale peaceful evacuation case in the history of Italy.
Based on law enforcers, they plan to remove the bomb to a special place for its diffusion. Experts report that the bomb was delivered by the British in 1941. It contains 40 kilos of dynamite.
It is not the first case that evacuation occurs in Italian cities. The citizens of Turin and Bolzano were evacuated during the last few months for the same reason.
