Individuals from countries with a high prevalence of COVID-19 planning to enter the UK will undergo a 10-day quarantine, The Guardian reports.
The decree will officially take effect on January 25 after being signed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
According to John Hopkins University, the UK ranks first globally in terms of deaths from coronavirus per 100,000 population.
In total, 3,617,459 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the UK, 97,329 people lost their lives.
