Ukrainian law on the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language has been enforced.
The law envisages the ban of the Russian language in the service/hospitality field and transfers to the Ukrainian language.
All the field sectors will be obliged to provide customers with information on the goods and services only in Ukrainian.
Based on the customer’s demand, the service will be allowed in the language acceptable for both sides.
The violation of the rule is subject to a fine.
The Ukrainian Parliament adopted the law on April 25, 2019, but it took effect today.
