President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, released a post concerning the Kharkiv region crash on his official Facebook account.
"Ukraine lost 26 of its worthy sons. Twenty-five died on the spot and one - later in the hospital. Another one is under treatment, and we pray for his speedy recovery. The country mourns with the families of the victims...The government will ensure treatment for the injured cadet and give compensation to the families of the victims. Ukraine will not forget its heroes. I insist that the causes of this plane crash to be promptly clarified and that the investigation to be impartial," Vladimir Zelensky said in his post.
The crash occurred yesterday, at around 20:50 local time (19:50 CET) near the eastern city of Chuhuyiv, in the Kharkiv region, some two kilometers away from a military airport.
There were 27 people on board. The accident claimed 26 lives.
