Famous Italian musician Franco Battiato has died in the Sicilian city of Milo at the age of 76. The newspaper La Repubblica reports about his death.
According to the musician's family, the funeral will be closed and attended only by family members.
They thanked everyone who grieved Battiato's death and expressed their condolences.
The publication notes that Franco Battiato was ill for a long time after a thigh fracture in an accident in 2017. He postponed four scheduled concerts then and appeared more and more rarely in public.
Franco Battiato's song La convenzione brought fame to the musician in 1970. In 1984, he performed with Italian singer Alice at the Eurovision Song Contest with the composition named I treni di Tozeur.
