Nariman Narimanov’s works translated into Georgian issued in Tbilisi

Presentation of a book authored by Nariman Narimanov, Azerbaijani writer, publicist, teacher, social-political figure, doctor, and dramatist, was held at Mirza Fatali Akhundov Museum of Georgian - Azerbaijan Culture today.

As Museum Director Leyla Aliyeva said, Nariman Narimanov was an important figure for Azerbaijan and Georgia.

"This book is devoted to 150 years since Nariman Narimanov's birth. I believe his pieces of work and life, full of dignity, will warm readers' hearts. Nariman Narimanov is a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijanis and Georgians. Writers and Dramatists like him are truly called a spiritual bridge between the two nations," project head and prologue author, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Aygul Isayeva said.

“Nariman Narimanov was a public figure, writer, publicist, educator, and doctor. He helped people with his expenses. Notably, he worked in the Gori Seminary. As born and grown up in Georgia, Narimanov was an important figure for the Georgian public,’’ Aliyeva said.

As professor Badri Nachkebia said, the publication of the translations would improve Georgia’s relationship with the strategic partner further.

He praised Narimanov as a great dramatist and writer.

It is the first time when works by Nariman Narimanov was translated into Georgian. The book published in Azerbaijani and Georgian languages offers three of them: plays ‘Imprudence’ and ‘Nader Shah’ and novel ‘Bahadur and Sona.’ ‘Imprudence’ is his first piece of work written in Georgia.

Oktai Kazumov is the translator of the works, while Doctor of Economic Aygul Isayeva is the prologue author.
