A 15-year-old has reportedly sued his parents in the region of Gori and notified the information center that the parents were going to beat him. The parents are now facing family violence charges.
"This is what happened -- a misdemeanor had been committed in which their child was alleged involved. The parents decided to punish the teenager by beating him. For the purposes of avoiding the punishment, he called 112," announced Prosecutor Natia Kikalia.
Gori District Court has refused to use any remand measure against the parents in view of their poor living conditions and the fact that the decision to beat the adolescent was motivated by good intentions. However, the judge explained to the parents that subjecting a child to physical abuse constitutes a serious crime.
