"At today's court hearing, the defense is going to petition for the use of bail as a measure of restraint," Tamar Gachechiladze, the lawyer of 21-year-old Giorgi Akhlouri, accused of killing his 19-year-old brother, said.
According to the lawyer, his client had no motive for the murder, and the mentioned fact happened due to negligence.
"In the present case, any intention is out of the question; it was an accident. We are dealing with negligent action and in no case with intent," said the lawyer.
Giorgi Akhlouri was arrested on January 6 in Tbilisi on charges of murdering 19-year-old Misho Akhlouri.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is underway under Article 11 Prima 108 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates the premeditated murder of a family member.
