Accused of killing his 19-year-old brother, 21-year-old Giorgi Akhlouri was sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
Today, at a remote hearing, the prosecution sought custody as a measure of restraint, while the defense sought the release of the accused on bail.
According to a statement issued by the prosecution, the court shared the motion of the prosecution as the investigation established that on the ground of the conflict, G.A. had intentionally inflicted a wound on M.A. with a knife in the chest in order to kill him.
"An investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on January 6, 2021, in the evening hours in Tbilisi, a conflict arose between G.A. and his brother M.A. in their house, during which G.A . in order to kill him intentionally, stabbed M.A. in the chest. As a result of the injuries, M.A. died after being taken to the hospital," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
Giorgi Akhlouri was arrested on January 6 in Tbilisi on charges of murdering 19-year-old Misho Akhlouri.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is underway under Article 11 Prima 108 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates the premeditated murder of a family member.
