The first court hearing at which the case of Natia Kapanadze, the former director of the Public Broadcaster Ajara TV and Radio, will be discussed has been scheduled.
The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on 25 May at the Batumi City Court. The Young Lawyers' Association pursuing the interests of Ms. Kapanadze informs.
''In 2019, the Board of Advisors of the Public Broadcaster submitted a motion of no confidence against Natia Kapanadze and removed her from her post. This act gave rise to doubts that the disputable decision was triggered by the government's willingness to change the policy of the broadcaster. Further developments substantiated these suspicions.
In her lawsuit of 30 April 2019, Natia Kapanadze demands that the decision of no confidence be recognized void. She also wants to be reinstated and be compensated for material damage resulting from unpaid salary,'' the statement by the Young Lawyers' Association reads.
