A defendant who allegedly subjected actress Eka Chkheidze to violence has received a two-year prison sentence, according to an organization called "Sapari."

"Following the "Sapari" motion, the Prosecutor's Office scheduled a forensic psychological assessment. The assessment determined that the victim showed signs suggesting psycho-trauma, which are characteristic of female victims of violence.

Thanks to the "Sapari" motion, proper legal assessment of violent actions by Ucha Mishveladze was carried out, and he was sentenced to two-year imprisonment, with a three-year probation term, after the verdict was delivered on 23 January 2020. Also, he was denied the right to purchase or carry firearms for three years," the statement reads.

The defendant was apprehended on 23 September. Allegedly, he was always around the actress and coerced her into marriage; in the case of refusal, he threatened to take his own life. The man was then released on GEL 3,000 bond.
