Georgia murder: Court delivers judgement in Kaspi businessman's case

The Gori Regional Court has sentenced the defendant Ketevan Chkhaidze, spouse of businessman Nodar Ghunashvili, to 5 years and 6 months in prison for concealing the murder. Murderer Zurab Kakhishvili has received a lifelong prison sentence. 

Mrs. Chkhaidze has admitted to concealing the murder crime, while Mr. Chkhaidze pleaded not guilty. 

The body of Nodar Ghunashvili, 33, was found at the Kaspi cemetery on 14 March 2021. The victim had his throat cut. LEOs apprehended the deceased businessman's neighbor after the body was found. 

Late Ghunashvili's family claimed that his spouse Keti Chkhaidze was involved in his murder.

Mrs. Chkaidze was detained in her parent's flat around a month after the crime was committed.
