The case of former Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava will take place at the Tbilisi City Court today.
The trial is scheduled for 11:00. The accused has already arrived to attend the trial. Other opposition politicians are at the court t support Ugulava.
The incident took place on December 11, 2019, at Tbilisi International Airport. According to Goka Gabashvili and Gigi Ugulava, they were attacked by two unknown persons. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the incident under Article 126, violence. Ugulava is accused of beating Badri Gavashelishvili.
Ugulava is convinced that the incident at the airport was provoked.
