The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia launched an investigation into possible surveillance on the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Kakha Sabanadze. The information about possible illegal actions spread through the media.

According to the prosecutor's office, based on the spread information, an investigation launched on the facts of a possible violation of the secrets of private communication and potential abuse of official authority by certain public officials, using their position on March 22, 2021.

"The investigation was launched under Articles 158 and 333 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," General Prosecutor's Office reveals.

Kakhaber Sabanadze resigned from the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs; he wrote about it on Facebook.
