Officers of the Investigation Service charged two persons for violating the registration requirements of the sawmill.
The investigation established that the accused installed a ribbon sawmill in the Ozurgeti district without proper registration, where various types of wood were systematically cut and processed.
As a result of the investigative actions, an illegally installed sawmill was removed, as well as 0.6 cubic meters of recycled plank and 54 units of logs prepared for cutting.
The investigation is underway under the first part of Article 287 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for up to 1 year.
