Nikoloz Marsagishvili elected as secretary of the High Council of Justice of Georgia

Nikoloz Marsagishvili has reportedly been appointed to the post of secretary of the High Council of Justice of Georgia. Out of 251 judges involved in the voting, 248 voted for Marsagishivili.

The newly appointed secretary of the High Council of Justice of Georgia deems the low number of judges and lots of cases the most challenging issues to be tackled in the Council.

At the Conference of Judges today, Tea Leonidze and Ketevan Tsintsadze were also elected judge members of the High Council.

Nikoloz Marsagishvili serves as an acting chairman of Tbilisi City Court, and after being appointed to the post of secretary of the High Council of Justice, he will have to step down as chairman.

Marsagishvili took the post of secretary after Giorgi Mikautadze resigned because he was elected chairperson of the Chamber of Civil Cases.
