State Inspector's Office is investigating wounding a father and son by the police near the occupation line in the village of Akhalabastumani, Zugdidi Municipality. The State Inspector's Office confirmed the information to Report.ge.
According to the agency, all necessary investigative and procedural actions will be taken to ensure an effective investigation.
"On April 30, 2021, the Western Division of the Investigation Department of the State Inspector's Office immediately launched a criminal investigation into the case on the fact of abuse of official authority by the use of weapons by certain employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the village of Akhali Abastumani, Zugdidi district. The abuse of the authority caused damage to the health of two persons, with the signs of a crime under Article 333, Part 3, Subparagraph "b" of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The State Inspector's Office will carry out all necessary investigative and procedural actions in order to ensure an effective investigation," the State Inspector's Office told Report.ge.
