The Investigation Service employees of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative measures, arrested three people for making and using fake tax documents and misappropriating a large amount of property.
The investigation established that the accused, involved more than 50 companies registered as value-added taxpayers in the criminal scheme through which, as a result of fictitious writing of tax invoices between companies, in 2019-2020, created GEL 441,360 assets through the production of forged documents, from which they subsequently misappropriated GEL 171,805.
The investigation is underway under Article 210, Parts 2, and Article 180, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years.
