Police detained three people during a protest rally in Khelvachauri. They are accused of disobeying the police.
The relatives of 54-year-old Revaz Sharabidze, who was detained yesterday, held a protest rally in Khelvachauri today and protested against his arrest.
Sharabidze was arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of weapons. Relatives claim that somebody put weapons to make him seem guilty. According to family members, police removed the evidence from the backyard of the house, although no one was present during the search.
The ombudsman says he has not yet read the case file and will discuss the matter later.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Revaz Sharabidze was arrested yesterday following Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates illegal purchase and storage of firearms.
