"Based on the evidence submitted by the prosecutor's office, the court sentenced Turkish citizens to 16 years in prison," the Prosecutor General's Office told report.ge.

"As a result of the investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecution presented evidence at the trial, which proved that Turkish citizens crossed the Georgian border illegally on January 31 and fired several shots with an unlawfully purchased weapon at the car of citizen B.A. The accompanying person was injured as a result. The perpetrators fled the scene, but the law enforcers detained them in Batumi.

They were charged with attempted premeditated murder of two persons, unlawful purchase, storage, carrying of firearms and ammunition, illegal crossing of the Georgian state border, and damage to another's property.

Batumi City Court sentenced A.Q., and O.Q., each with 16 years in prison," the statement said.
