"We will not allow destabilization attempts in the country, and one of the important guarantees for that is the Parliament of Georgia," the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze stated at the sitting of the Bureau.
Talakvadze thinks that the court made the decision that any democratic state would in case of a violent attack on its constitutional institutions.
According to him, the rule of law is the only basis for fair cooperation between the parties.
"Quite important political events took place during these two days. In particular, yesterday ended the trial of one of the most resonant cases regarding an attack on the state and constitutional institutions, as well as organization and participation in it. We have already decided to lift the immunity of a member of parliament and have given consent to the prosecutor's office to apply to the court.
I want to clarify that the political team is united, and the state institutions are ready to continue delivering all public state services. Of course, we will not allow any interruption or attempts to destabilize the country," said Archil Talakvadze.
