Chkhorotsku City Assembly chairperson could not be elected again. The deputies voted for Jumber Izoria, a member of the Georgian Dream, and Shota Tsurtsumia, a member of the Party For Georgia.
Jumber Izoria received 13 votes, Shota Tsurtsumia received 12 votes, one ballot paper turned out to be invalid.
According to the results of the voting, the candidate of the "Georgian Dream" was supported by one of the opposition MPs, but it is unknown which party he is from because the voting was held secretly.
The election of the chairperson needs the support of 14 members.
Chkhorotsku has a total of 27 deputies in the newly convened City Assembly. The mandates are distributed as follows: "Georgian Dream" 12 mandates, "United National Movement" 7, the party "For Georgia" 7, "Lelo" 1.
Update: Due to lack of quorum, voting got postponed for one week.
