Criminals will be in jail - Georgian Dream leader Kobakhidze

Leader of the Georgian Dream political party Irakli Kobakhidze calls on the Interior Ministry to use proportional force against the protesters.

In his words, criminals will no longer be in politics but prison.

He recalled Nikanor Melia's action to encourage the criminal groups to attack the parliament on June 20, 2019, and said that Nika Melia and his accomplices are in charge of the attack this time.

"We want to warn them that they will be held responsible before the law,'' he stated.

"Shortly, there will be the times in Georgia, when politicians will be in politics and criminals – in jail,'' Irakli Kobakhidze remarked.

"I call on the Interior Ministry to use the proportional force, and the protesters – to refrain from acting illegally,'' he concluded.

Police re-used water cannons to dismantle the protests near the Central Election Commission in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Earlier, clashes occurred between the protesters and police as protesters attempted to rush in the CEC yard.
