The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani met with the US Ambassador Kelly Degnan. As reported by the Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the security situation in the region, the developments around Ukraine, and the recent actions and aggressive rhetoric of the Russian Federation to delay the process of Georgia and Ukraine's integration into NATO.
According to them, the statements related to the revision of the decisions of the NATO Bucharest Summit by any third party and any attempt to influence this process are unacceptable. It was also noted that the main challenge of the European security architecture today is the occupation, annexation, and non-fulfillment of international obligations by Russia on the territories of neighboring countries.
"During the meeting, the parties agreed that in the light of the recent aggressive rhetoric by the Russian Federation, it is especially important to constantly coordinate positions and take agreed steps," noted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
