Georgia deserves to get the MAP, said Sen Rob Portman at the press conference in Tbilisi.
In the senator's words, Georgia needs to pass reforms before joining NATO; however, the MAP will assist the country in moving forward on the path to the alliance. ''For this purpose, the country needs to pass reforms in both military and defense fields,'' Mr. Portman said, adding that Georgia also has to strengthen the rule of law.
