Georgia's international partners want it to keep passing reforms, according to Degnan

US Ambassador Kelly Degnan said that walking on the path to the EU means progress for Georgia.

In Degnan's words, international partners, whether the EU or US, support Georgia's integration into the European family, and they want Georgia to keep passing reforms.

Degnan stressed that Georgia had made significant progress since its restoration of independence, and they expect the progress to continue.

According to Degnan, the parliament of Georgia has turned to international experts for recommendations, and it has now to follow the recommendations.

''I think now when the elections have ended, hopefully, all parties will consolidate and work constructively to pass the reforms, strengthen the country's legislation and push Georgia on the path the majority of the Georgian people wants it to follow, and this path leads Georgia to the Euro-Atlantic family,'' Degnan stressed.

Earlier, representatives of different opposition parties in Georgia have sent a letter to European Council President Charles Michel, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, and expressed their concern over the latest political developments in the country.

In the letter, they stress that the Georgia Dream's decisions are wreaking havoc on the EU-Georgia relations.
