''The Georgian Dream party has decided to sign the document by Charles Michel's representative Christian Danielsson,'' Chairperson Archil Talakvadze said this in his statement.
In Talakvadze's words, Georgia is now combatting the pandemic and its social and economic consequences, and against this backdrop, when the geopolitical situation is tough in the country, they must cope with the common challenge through joint efforts.
According to the Chairperson of the parliament, Georgia faces a starkly different reality as politicians and various parties are prone to put their own partisan interests before those of their people.
''You know that to improve the political situation in the country, European Council President Charles Michel sent his envoy to Georgia and replaced facilitation of the political dialogue with mediation, implying that the mediator must have offered a project leading the conflicting parties to an agreement,'' he said, adding that the Georgian Dream is publicly signing the document presented to them by Mr. Danielsson.
''We have not so far signed the document as we have been waiting for the corresponding steps from the opposition, and we have waited for this before the ambassadors held further consultations,'' Mr. Talakvadze concluded.
