Georgian FM David Zalkaliani says elections were held in Georgia

"The 2020 elections were competitive, held mainly in a free environment, and all fundamental rights were respected. It was an obvious assessment. We have heard an evaluation from the European Union and NATO. These statements were made both publicly and at meetings.

It is straightforward to double-check our public and opponents. Since everyone unanimously notes that the elections were held in Georgia, there is no question of legitimacy," Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said.

He commented on the opposition's entry into the parliament.

As Zalkaliani says, there is a complete consensus in the international community regarding recognizing the election legitimacy.

"Nobody questioned the legitimacy of the elections; on the contrary, there were demands on our opponents to enter parliament. All the issues considered at the negotiating table should be resolved in the parliament," Zalkaliani said.
