"The man who is in jail here is, to me, a Putin prisoner," the fourth President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, made the statement after leaving the Gori Military Hospital, where he met with the third President, Mikheil Saakashvili.
"We, in Georgia, have a distinguished politician in the confrontation with Putin, and no matter the controversies in the past, it is in Putin's main interest that this person be arrested and locked up by Georgians; this is my personal assessment," Margvelashvili said.
He also spoke about the content of the 3-hour meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili and said that the conversation was about the most difficult geopolitical challenges that Georgia is currently facing, and in this process, the position of the country's commanders-in-chief is important.
"We shared in detail and reviewed the geopolitical situation around Georgia, the main actor of which is Russia. The aggressive policy of the Russian Federation in the region, which is directly related to Mikheil Saakashvili and Ukraine, which is close to us all. It automatically reflects on the security environment of Georgia," says Margvelashvili.
