"I am glad that we are in Baku today," the Prime Minister of Georgia, who is paying an official visit to Azerbaijan, said during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
Irakli Gharibashvili stressed the close ties between the two countries.
"Mr. President, thank you for your hospitality. It is a great pleasure and honor to meet you in Baku again. As you mentioned, we had to postpone the visit due to a coronavirus infection, but I am glad that we are in Baku today. You said we have a wonderful relationship, and our friendship counts several centuries. I want to repeat what your father once said in Tbilisi - "Fate has determined, and we are lucky to be neighbors." That's right, Georgians and Azerbaijanis are neighboring nations, and our destiny is connected," Irakli Gharibashvili added.
Ilham Aliyev hosted Irakli Gharibashvili at Zagulba Presidential Residence.
