"The social assistance package presented by the Prime Minister today will help our citizens to improve their social situation and to restore the social damage caused to them by the pandemic," the former speaker of Parliament said.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, a parliamentary majority member, the pandemic created economic difficulties and needs to be addressed.
"Our response is first and foremost social assistance to the most vulnerable segments of society. This package, which is proposed by the Georgian government, is very important. The segments are very well selected," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
