At the Legal Issues Committee session, Irakli Shotadze, a candidate for the post of Prosecutor-General, has elaborated upon his meeting with Bidzina Ivanishvili, at which Mamuka Khazaradze was also present.
"I have already given comprehensive information about this meeting. My presence at this meeting was accidental, and I was not involved in any discussions there. These are not my words. You may also ask those parties which were involved in the meeting. I do not remember saying anything in favor of Khazaradze. If my memory serves me right, I did not engage in any discussions there. If I had noticed anything violating the prosecutor's ethical standards, I would have left the meeting instantly. But it was a friendly meeting," Mr. Shotadze declared.
Mamuka Khazaradze has said that legal proceedings related to Vano Chkartishvili and 30 million USD ended after Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Prosecutor-General intervened in it.
