"The price that our country has paid for independence and freedom is very high, and we owe it to our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland never to forget what they have done," the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Kakha Kuchava stated at the event dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, the restoration of statehood has required tremendous efforts of many generations, and its maintenance requires no less work and dedication to strengthen the Georgian state.
"I greet every citizen of Georgia and congratulate them on Georgia's Independence Day!
I would especially like to congratulate the young people who took the oath of allegiance to Georgia today and put themselves in the country's service.
I respect the memory of those who died in the struggle for freedom, independence, and unity of Georgia.
It is symbolic that on May 26, Independence Day, we will bury the Knight struggling for Independence and Freedom of Georgia, the Commander-in-Chief of Independent Georgia, General Giorgi Kvinitadze," said Kakha Kuchava.
