EU Ambassador Karl Harzell has responded to an altercation between UNM Head Nika Melia and Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze.
Karl Harzell said he is sorry that the leaders of the two parties were aggressive; however, in his words, he is glad that one of them apologized.
''I was concerned about the security-related situation after the confrontation outside the delegation office. I contacted the corresponding state agencies to discuss the situation with them. I wish to convey my last week's message again: I condemn instances of violence in the pre-election context and call for a rapid investigation,'' the EU Ambassador said, adding that all voters must have the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights and vote in a violence-free atmosphere.
UNM Head Melia and GD Chairman Kobakhidze were involved in a verbal altercation outside the EU office.
GD Chairperson apologized to the public for losing patience and using profanity.
