Dimitri Sadzaglishvili, the Lawyer of Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, says that transferring the former president to the Gldani prison treatment establishment means that the government refuses to hospitalize him.
''The Justice Ministry refuses to follow the Consilium's recommendation, and they are simply unwilling to hospitalize Mikheil Saakashvili. As for transferring Mikheil Saakashvili to No.18 establishment, by doing so, they are putting the man who put an end to crime in this country, together with criminals encouraged by this government. This would never happen,'' the lawyer declared.
Justice Minister Rati Bregadze said earlier that Mikheil Saakashvili is planned to be hospitalized in No18 treatment establishment of the Special Penitentiary Service.
Saakashvili's lawyers say that his safety cannot be ensured in the said establishment.
Mikheil Saakashvili was detained on 1 October.
He declared a hunger strike 21 days ago.
