The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania is responding to the arrest of Mikheil Saakashvili. The agency posted a statement on Twitter calling on the Georgian government to refrain from politicizing decisions.
"Lithuania is closely following the reports on the detention of the former Georgian president Saakashvili in his homeland. We expect that the principles of the rule of law and due process will prevail. Strongly call to refrain from any politicized decisions," reads the Tweet.
