Mariam Jashi, the member of the Georgian Dream, left the Parliamentary Majority after a closed meeting with Archil Talakvadze. The Deputy made statement after leaving the meeting.

"I am leaving the Majority and resigning as Chairman of the Education Science and Culture Committee. I personally supported the transition to a proportional system”, Mariam Jashi said. 

The Parliament of Georgia rejected the bill on proportional electoral system at the plenary sitting.

138 deputies were registered for the first attempt, 139 deputies were registered the second time, 141 for the third attempt. 113 votes were needed for the amendments.
