Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has posted on social media where he supports the decision of UNM Chairperson Nika Melia, who refused to be questioned by the State Security Service and the court.
According to him, the protest will not stop, and the opposition will fight until the defeat of the government, but he adds that national reconciliation will be the best solution.
"These days, the State Security Service is actively spreading rumors that I will be sent back to prison from Gori, despite the fact that doctors are categorically against it.
All this is done, first, to blackmail our activists and me, and second, to divert attention and gain time for the regime to breathe. The completely illegal and ridiculous summoning of Nika Melia to the State Security Service served the same reason. Nika answered very correctly and with dignity. I want to tell Ivanishvili that I have already suffered torture and inhuman treatment, and you can no longer surprise me. In the coming days, the fight will intensify and will not stop until your defeat. Come to your senses and come to the national reconciliation before it is too late, this is the best solution for everyone!" Mikheil Saakashvili.
