Ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili has given consent to his transfer to the Gori Military Hospital, according to his lawyer Nika Gvaramia.
Nika Gvaramia says that the hospital was built under Saakashvili's government, and he is aware that it is equipped with the latest medical devices. ''Specialists must keep us posted, and we must know that everything goes well there. A post-hunger-strike protocol must also be formulated,'' the lawyer said, adding that Saakashvili will be hospitalized today.
''He will be taken there later. I cannot specify the time yet. His personal physician and Mrs. Giuli Alasania will be by his side. We will go to Gori and follow his transportation process closely. When he is moved to the hospital room, we will leave Gori,'' Nika Gvaramia said.
Justice Minister Rati Bregadze has offered Mikheil Saakashvili to be moved from the prison facility to the Gori Military Hospital.
After the decision was publicized, Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria called off the hunger strike and was hospitalized.
