"I greet the decision of Nika Melia to leave the prison on bail proposed by the EU," Georgian MP Salome Samadashvili said.
In her words, the consent of the European Union to post bail is proof that the detention of the leader of the United National Movement, Nika Melia, was used as an instrument of political persecution.
"It will be the right decision if National Movement joins Michel's document and continues its activities in parliament to create a commission to investigate the events of 20-21 June. There are disagreements between the authorities and the opposition over the content of the amnesty law. The said commission may be a decision that will allow us and the public to have a thorough discussion before the law is passed. This decision will also put an end to the division within the opposition, which is detrimental to shared goals," Salome Samadashvili said.
