Polish president defines yesterday's meeting in Georgia as step to depolarization

In a remote conversation, Polish president Andrzej Duda has congratulated Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili on yesterday's successful meeting organized by European Council President Charles Michel in the Orbeliani palace and defined it as a significant step to depolarization.

The Press Office of the Administration of the President says that the two leaders discussed Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and prospects. Zurabishvili underscored the significance of Georgia's sectoral integration in the EU, especially in the fields of healthcare and education, as well as the importance of the EU's support in implementing reforms required for sectoral integration.

Salome Zurabishvili stressed that Georgia is unwavering in its decision to follow the path to the EU, and she also focused on the significance of the EU's involvement in the region of Caucasus.

The two presidents also discussed the coronavirus-related details, and the Georgian high executive again emphasized how crucial the EU's assistance is for Georgia to receive the vaccine.

At the end of the remote conversation, Zurabishvili invited her Polish counterpart to Georgia.

Within his visit to Georgia, on Mar 1, European Council President Charles Michel met with the Georgian president, Prime Minister, the Chairman of the parliament, and the opposition.

Later, at his initiative, a meeting between the authorities and the opposition was convened.
