Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has thanked Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Deputy Head Paata Imnadze, all employees of the Center and medical personnel.

"I want to thank everybody who works 24/7 in different institutions to assist the country in coping with the global coronavirus-related issue," the President said.

In her words, Georgia is an exemplary country, and others may take their cue from it in carrying out measures against the coronavirus.

"The Lugar Center is functioning here, which is exceptionally good not only in our country but in the regions also. This is our great chance, and whoever is fighting against it is fighting against us. We all remember perfectly well the rumors about the laboratory spread last year. We must appreciate what we have, which is why I will always back them; they do not need my backing, however, as their actions speak for them," Zurabishvili stressed.
