Within her working visit to Israel, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has paid a visit to the Sheba Children's Cancer Center of Oncology, according to the Presidential Administration.

The President got familiarized with the work-related activities of the Center. In Zurabishvili's words, one of the critical problems Georgia is facing today is that children who have cancer cannot be appropriately treated in the country as the field is underdeveloped.

"The majority of children who have tumors or cancer have to go abroad to undergo proper treatment, with some of them coming to Israel. Going abroad with diseased children is excruciating pain for families. My top priority is to take effective measures to tackle this issue," The President declared and expressed her hope that, if required, Israel will provide Georgia with necessary assistance in this field.
